My Background & Experience

My professional journey has been shaped by many years of supporting children, adults, and families through times of challenge, change, and growth.

For 15 years, I worked with a non-profit organization supporting families with young children through some of life’s most complex and meaningful transitions. My work involved walking alongside families as they navigated parenting, developmental differences, and access to community resources, while also recognizing that each family has its own unique strengths, values, and goals. Using a strength-based and holistic approach, I supported families in exploring what was most important to them, fostering resilience, building on existing capacities, and developing practical strategies that reflected their individual needs and priorities. I also facilitated workshops and support groups focused on caregiver self-care and emotional regulation, experiences that deepened my understanding of the importance of compassion and care for ourselves.

My counselling training included a practicum supporting women who had experienced domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse, as well as volunteering with a group counselling program for newcomers and refugees. These experiences strengthened my appreciation for the impact of trauma, life transitions, and the importance of creating a safe and supportive space for healing.

For the past six years, I have worked as a private counsellor, supporting adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other life challenges. I bring to my work a deep respect for each person’s unique story and a belief that meaningful change begins within a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Across all of my professional experiences, one theme has remained constant: a commitment to listening deeply, understanding each person’s perspective, and supporting people as they move toward greater self-understanding and well-being.
